Made of 3/16″ steel plate, this reinforcement plate, along with the special surface ground spacers and grade 8 hardware, provides an even pressure along the entire bottom half of the timing chain cover on your MGB.

The thickness of the spacers equals the height of the raised ribs between bolt holes. The plate then applies pressure along its entire length.

Often the timing chain cover, made of very thin sheet metal, gets distorted when the attaching bolts are overtightened, creating gaps which leak oil. Solve that problem forever.

The first picture shows a timing cover on the front plate with the five spacers located over the selected holes. The second picture shows the reinforcement plate in place with the spacers underneath. The third picture shows the reinforcement plate with the included grade eight hardware installed but not tightened. The fourth picture shows the detailed instruction sheet which gives a step by step installation procedure.
